Matriva Adds Companies House Verification to Agency Onboarding for Stronger Trust and Transparency
Letting agents can now verify their agency against the Companies House register during onboarding, with directors and company status displayed on their public profile
"Trust starts with transparency. Verifying agencies against Companies House gives landlords and tenants real confidence in who they're dealing with."

Matriva has integrated Companies House verification into its letting agency onboarding flow, allowing agents to verify their agency against the official UK company register during sign-up, with company directors, incorporation date and company status displayed on their public Matriva profile.
The integration uses the Companies House API to search the register by company name or number, retrieve the company profile, and display verified company details on the agency's public profile page. This gives landlords and tenants confidence that the agency they are dealing with is a registered, active UK company.
"Trust is the foundation of the rental market, and right now there's very little of it," said Mike Georgeson. "By verifying agencies against Companies House, we're giving landlords and tenants a way to confirm that an agency is legitimate before they hand over their money or their keys."
During onboarding, agents search for their company by name, select it from the results, and Matriva automatically populates the agency profile with the company name, registered address, incorporation date, company status and list of active directors. The agent can then complete their profile with contact details, logo and a description of their services.
The verified company details are displayed on the agency's public profile page alongside their Matriva listing activity, giving landlords a transparent view of the agency they are considering working with.
