Matriva Partners with Plaid to Power Open Banking Verification for Rent Payments

Matriva has partnered with Plaid, the leading open banking platform, to power secure bank account connections and automatic rent payment verification across the Matriva platform.

The integration allows tenants to connect their UK bank account through Plaid's secure Open Banking flow, after which Matriva can automatically verify that monthly rent payments match the agreed amount and due date. This verification underpins Matriva's rent-to-credit reporting feature and provides landlords with confidence that rent is being paid on time.

Plaid's infrastructure supports all major UK banks and building societies, and the connection is read-only, meaning Matriva can verify transactions but cannot initiate payments or move funds. Tenants retain full control of their account at all times.

The partnership also enables Matriva to verify the identity of the bank account holder, matching the tenant's name against the account holder name returned by the bank, adding an additional layer of identity verification to the referencing process.
