Matriva Introduces Switch Service to Help Landlords Move Away from Letting Agents
New guided switch flow helps landlords terminate agency agreements, transfer deposit protection, and take over self-managed tenancies with full compliance
"Landlords locked into long agency contracts now have a guided, compliant way to take back control of their portfolio."

Matriva has launched a new Switch service that guides landlords through the process of moving from a letting agent to self-management, covering every compliance step from contract review to deposit transfer and tenant notification.
The Switch flow takes landlords through an eight-step process: reviewing the agency agreement, giving notice, transferring the deposit protection, collecting handover documents, confirming compliance certificates, updating the tenancy agreement, notifying the tenant, and confirming the new rent collection arrangements.
"Thousands of landlords are paying 10 to 15 per cent of their rental income to an agent and wondering what they actually get for it," said Mike Georgeson. "Our Switch service gives them a clear, compliant path to take back control of their properties without missing a legal step."
Matriva also offers a free contract checker tool that uses AI to extract key terms from an agency agreement, including notice periods, exit fees, continuing commission clauses and renewal fees, so landlords can understand exactly what it would take to leave.
Once a switch is complete, landlords can use Matriva's full property management suite to collect rent, track compliance, manage tenant communications and handle accounting, all in one place.
